simpler sounds better.my opinion…
so i worked hard on a new encoder-fb card.
combining the classic ultracut encoder,feedback and the SA74E/FB functions on a new basis.
prototypes on its way and soon under test.

just picked up 50 new caruso frames.
after fine finish they go for anodyzing and after summer break we should have some on stock

bodies almost done ready begining of july.
so around 20 for sale at this point.

we decided on power coated old school coating
check:

AM44 with 14inch table. brings down the cost.
and work perfect.

the latest card. ultracut_monsel (monitor selector card)

a monitor selector for input, Feedback and integrated phonopre.

input, phonopre level and output is adjustable.

output is balanced with THAT1646

finally first two ultracut systems left the lab soon.

i added a few new features.
the great blameless based power amps and the protection cards are still same.
otherwise all is brand new.

ultracut is close to SAL74 amp system but with much better amps. close signal path. and yes. brand new..hehe

first AM44 machine left my lab:

equipped with a
professional Pitch13 system,
16″ vacuum turntable and
TT15 direct drive

it will be already close to a good neumann VMS70.

there are still a few parts in prototype stage like arm and suspension box.
but we work hard to get those parts to a final stage.

ballpark price for a working system based on caruso head and simple fixed pitch will be around CHF 15’000.

will be tested soon and main batch is ordered.

with this cards SAL74C rack is complete and we can soon provide brand new built SAL74C racks.

just machined the new AM44 turntable bearings.
still in conceptual phase. but i guess this is the way to go.

main concept is similar to the Neumann approach:

Aluminum case
bronce sinter glide berarings
and Axial Bearing

but i also include a 1000 imp/rev encoder on the axis.
the vacuum is taken through the axis.
and the bearing plate will have the screws to adjust the height.

as TT15 does not need a heavy casted iron turntable anymore this is much better
for brushless, direc drive motors.
